What are combo bets?
Combo bets in Sportsbook allow you to combine multiple selections into a single wager, offering higher potential payouts due to the multiplication of odds for each selection.
To win a combo bet, every selection in the combination must be correct; even one incorrect selection results in the entire bet being lost. These bets provide flexibility, as you can combine outcomes from different events or sports, such as football, basketball, and tennis, all on the same ticket.
While combo bets can yield significantly higher rewards, they come with increased risk, as the likelihood of winning decreases with each additional selection. This makes them a popular choice for bettors seeking larger payouts with relatively small stakes.
How to place a combo bet?
To place a combo bet, start by selecting at least two markets. Then, open your bet slip and switch to the combo bet option.
The minimum number of selections for a combo bet is two, but you can combine up to 10 or more markets. The more selections you add, the higher the combined odds, which increases the potential payout.
What makes combo bets unique is that you pay a single stake for the entire combination, regardless of how many markets you include. However, it's important to note that if even one selection in your combo bet loses, the entire bet is lost.
Once your bet has been placed, you can go to My Bets to check the status of the bet.
Combo bets are easily identifiable as they include the word COMBO in their title, along with a tracker for the bet's status. For instance, in the example below, a combo bet was placed on 5 markets with total combined odds of 1123.17. The tracker uses color codes to indicate the bet's status: a blue line means the bet is still open, a green line signifies the bet is won, and a red line indicates the bet is lost.
It's important to note that if even one selection in the combo bet loses, the entire combo bet is considered lost. Since combo bets often involve selections from different matches with varying start times, some of the bets may be settled while others remain pending, adding an extra layer of anticipation and strategy.
As you can see even with 3 open bets, since one is lost, the entire combo is lost.
